Description:
In Orchid, the water emerges from two different points to skim across the highly polished surface of a gently sloping cone. The central form, reminiscent of a mushroom, is the source of the water, which is given two different characteristics through Pye’s inventive treatment.
From its base the water flows freely, but from the centre of the top, overflowing water is transformed into free-falling threads and droplets created by 120 drop-off points. The articulation of the water threads creates a light, cylindrical veil around the central motif.
