William Pye Water Scupture

Canyon

One of eight works in The Serpent Garden at Alnwick Castle. Canyon exhibits a condition of water movement called rollwave, where surface tension creates ever-changing patterns on a film of descending water. The canyon is created by two mirror polished stainless steel monoliths that stand together, allowing just enough room to pass in between.

This is an interactive piece, inviting the viewer to walk through.
