Hypanthium

This version of Coanda is the focal point of the Roseline Sturdy amphitheatre in the Botanical Garden at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver. The 250 seat amphitheatre is used for university classes and lectures, as well as for small theatrical performances and concerts.

This piece is called Hypanthium after the named for the cup shaped part of a flower which supports sepals, petals and stamens. See a video of the Coanda series here.

Material: cast, spun and rolled stainless steel, mirror polish finish
