William Pye Water Scupture

Reflection

This piece was a temporary installation in Salisbury Cathedral, part of my research and development for a new font. Here was a unique opportunity to celebrate reflection, where water could reflect the all enveloping fabric of the cathedral. The shape of the large trapezoidal tray of water echoes the footprint of St Osmond's tomb at the East end of the cathedral. This was installed simply to demonstrate how effective reflection could be in such a setting and to set the scene for debate and discussion.
