William Pye Water Scupture

Unveiling In Norway 18th June 2011

Vannpaviljong (Water Pavilion) was unveiled as part of the celebrations for the 200th birthday of the town of Drammen near Oslo. Rollwaving water covers the four mirror polished stainless steel walls, and rods of water fall in curtains around the piece, leaving two entrances through which people can come inside and experience the Starburst feature set into the floor and distorted reflections on the curved wall, as well as the water effects from below the transparent double dome. Water rises in the dome, spills over the outside and then the level falls back according to a set programme, accompanied by colour changes of the ring of LED lights around the base of the dome.
