William Pye Water Scupture

Sibirica Minor

2005 was the fourth year that I had installed a piece in Salisbury Cathedral and Sibirica Minor II was on loan there from Easter 2005 until Pentecost 2006. During this time the water sculpture became a font and was used for the first time for this purpose at the Easter Dawn Liturgy for three baptisms.

The design of the base was conceived with the Cathedral in mind, its cruciform shape marking the intersection at the North Crossing within the nave.
